Review: The Secret Circle: The Captive, Part II and The Power By L.J. Smith

CAUGHT IN THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL...

Cassie has joined the most alluring and deadly in-crowd imaginable. But power comes with a price, and it's more dangerous than she knows. Torn between the dueling desires of the two leaders of the Secret Circle, she must ultimately choose between saving all of the New Salem, and her own dangerous love for bewitching Adam, which threatens to tear the circle apart. In the ultimate battle between good and evil, will Cassie's supernatural powers be strong enough to lead the coven out of danger? Or will she fall prey to the dark forces within?

...WILL SHE SACRIFICE HER LOVE FOR THE CIRCLE TO SURVIVE?

My Take:
While reading the end I was actually amazed by the ending even though I wanted more, I felt that it ended well. I couldn't help myself to watch and and try to catch up with all of the news regarding the new show so completing the book was a total given. Cassie grew on me I felt that her journey was an endless one and didn't want to just end it with the last page. In this one you had one key ingredient already going into reading that the town had its purpose wheat you didn't get that the town had its own history and Cassie/viewer needed to know all of the elements in order to save the town. I was reminded again and again how close the character Cassie is like any other teen walking in a small town, and thats the town may be small but can store so many secrets not all of the towns people knew about them. Cassie needed to see that the circle needed to be complete and that her feelings would end up hurting the circle if they were to ever get out incomes the next hottie Nick, he is the brooding type and doesn't talk it worked because he didn't expect anything and knew her even in the short time they have know each other. But can fate really get in the way of destiny, can a line be broken when that line is leading you to the one who completes you. That was one of many questions running through my mind and also will the show give us the right friendships because the book gave us all that and more so will the show deliver. I hope if anyone is reading that you will take the time and watch the little scenes we get and the 6 min. preview to what's going to be a good show. Remember Smith gave us Damon so anything is possible. So excited and now I can't to watch the show *watches the preview once more*

Review: The Secret Circle: The Initiation and The Captive Part 1

The circle's power has lured her home

Forced to move from sunny California to gloomy New England, Cassie longs for her old life. Even so, she feels a strange kinship to a terrifying group of teens who seem to rule her school. Initiated into the coven of witches that's controlled New Salem for hundreds of years, she's drawn into the Secret Circle, a thrill that's both intoxicating and deadly. But when she falls for the mysterious and intriguing Adam, Cassie must choose whether to resist temptation or risk dark forces to get what she wants—even if it means that one wrong move could ultimately destroy her.

My Take:
I not going to lie I've never read this series before this week and I am so glad it only took me to finish the whole trilogy this week. I loved it Cassie comes to a new town called New Salem and is the usual target for the 'new kid' treatment an outsider coming in. I fell for it because Cassie reminded alot of other characters that start new and Cassie had to figure her new life. She sees that a group of kids and the ones that everyone is afraid of but at the same time worshipped and since she is new she wants to feel accepted but at the same time also to be left to herself, but since she lives is special she is instantly being mocked and being the target until she meets the beautiful Diana. I liked the other characters especially Faye because she kept reminding me of that maybe bad things are cool. What I liked of Cassie was that she was willing to be loyal and in the end she grew up. This one book though splits into two books even though its three books, so you might have to end one and begin the other just so that you know what is to happen. The coven needed Cassie and in the end Cassie needed the coven they are forever bonded in that way I loved that bond that the whole coven showed. I am so excited that this series will be a show and the one to bring it to us is the awesome Kevin Williamson he is the man and I can see just by the short preview its going to be good. AND btw I'm Team Adam, Nick is great I just feel something when Adam is there its weird but I can't help not falling for him too.

Here is a sneak peek into the show I am so excited its been on my mind since the trailer came out and I need to share how much this has taken over my life.
