Review: Infinte Days(#1) by Rebecca Maizel

Title: Infinite Days
Author: Rebecca Maizel
Publisher:ST. Martin's Griffin
Date: August 3, 2010

"Lenah Beaudonte is, in many ways, your average teen: the new girl at Wickham Boarding School, she struggles to fit in enough to survive and stand out enough to catch the eye of the golden-boy lacrosse captain. But Lenah also just happens to be a recovering five-hundred-year-old vampire queen. After centuries of terrorizing Europe, Lenah is able to realize the dream all vampires have -- to be human again. After performing a dangerous ritual to restore her humanity, Lenah entered a century-long hibernation, leaving behind the wicked coven she ruled over and the eternal love who has helped grant her deep-seated wish.Until, that is, Lenah draws her first natural breath in centuries at Wickham and rediscovers a human life that bears little resemblance to the one she had known. As if suddenly becoming a teenager weren’t stressful enough, each passing hour brings Lenah closer to the moment when her abandoned coven will open the crypt where she should be sleeping and find her gone. As her borrowed days slip by, Lenah resolves to live her newfound life as fully as she can."

"But, to do so, she must answer ominous questions: Can an ex-vampire survive in an alien time and place? What can Lenah do to protect
her new friends from the bloodthirsty menace about to descend upon them? And how is she ever going to pass her biology midterm?"

Why I fell for this book:
This has been an amazing journey, wow the one question you have to ask yourself is once a vampire can you really be turned back into a human your true self? Well Rebecca Maizel who just gave me something to always cherish really got down to it with the whole one minute your eternally dead the next your breathing and feeling and experiencing things you never thought possible. This was a absolute read for me because I love the words vampire when looking for books and this one got to me because of the fact this isn't your lets fall in love with a vampire. Nope, real story with real insight on all things from when she was her deadlier self and of course the present which of course was so cool Lenah finding and trying to make sense of the latest century and trying to seem like an average high school girl. Besides the trailer and the cover this one called to me with the name itself because infinte days that is a whole lot of days. If your interested in vampires or humans come in and experience your days with Infinite Days. Plus I am so dying for the second one and of course counting down the days to Stolen Nights comes out.

Review: Awakened by P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast

Title: Awakened
Author: P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
Publisher:ST. Martin's Griffin
Date: January 4, 2011

“My love, speak to me. Tell me everything.” Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal.

“What would you have me say?” He didn’t meet her eyes.

“Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.

“She does.”

“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.” She started to walk away from him.

“Where are you going? What will happen next?”

“It is quite simple. I will ensure Zoey is drawn back to Oklahoma. There, on my own terms, I will complete the task you failed.”

Exonerated by the Vampyre High Council and returned to her position of High Priestess at Tulsa’s House of Night, Neferet has sworn vengeance on Zoey. Dominion over Kalona is only one of the weapons she plans to use against Z. But Zoey has found sanctuary on the Isle of Skye and is being groomed by Queen Sgiach to take over for her there. Being Queen would be cool, wouldn’t it? Why should she return to Tulsa? After losing her human consort, Heath, she will never be the same – and her relationship with her super-hot-warrior, Stark, may never be the same either…

And what about Stevie Rae and Rephaim? The Raven Mocker refuses to be used against Stevie Rae, but what choice does he have when no one in the entire world, including Zoey, would be okay with their relationship? Does he betray his father or his heart?

In the pulse-pounding 8th book in the bestselling House of Night series, how far will the bonds of friendship stretch and how strong are the ties that bind one girl’s heart?

Why I love this book:

This was an amazing story loved that had me balling my eye out at every turn. I can see why this series is so one everyone's wish list and of course on everyone's radar. It has sexy, spunk, and attitude. I've read all books so far and let me tell you this is not something like Twilight it more than. New York Times Bestselling authors gave me something with this series, I fell in love with Zoey Redbird the moment she had been marked. She has been on a journey of a life time and I always have to wonder how she gets through it than I know its because she has great friends who became her family.

In this one Zoey was finally well awakened and told so many things that were going one, Zoey had to make a choice to stay on a island that doesn't have any drama or return to the drama that and save the world one moment at a time. What she goes though is different that any average teenager but with her elements air, water, earth, fire and spirit and of course her family and her warrior she can kick any ones butt. She has heart and knows when to follow it to do crazy wild things. I am so looking forward to the next one and of course how Zoey's journey ends because both of these Cast's made something with this series and it has made me realize why love and sacrifice can mean so much. I love and respect these women for what they created and shared with all of us HoN whores we just love us some Stark cause he is what Stevie Ray's says is hotter than the bezness.

The first in a new erotic romance series, Backstage Pass is a sizzling mix of sex, love, and rock n' roll

"It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band, Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her?"

My Take:
This was amazing not because of its classification but because I just couldn't stop reading. I would get to a point while reading and look up thinking this is bad but so good I need to finish. My mom loves to read no doubt but if she read this she would ban me from enjoying this master piece it felt so real the way Olivia was able to illustrate for me like I was right there listening in to the music, passion and the extreme sex OMG is all there is to say. I really liked it a lot because never have I felt like this it felt really good, this is not like any romance book and it told me things that i didn't know anyone is capable of really amazing work. I going bananas just thinking about the things Brian and Myr did to each other. If there was ever a point in my life, that one thing on the list it would be to party with a rock bank and i mean party like there isn't a tomorrow.

Really though serious this time it was well worth the read it rocked my world literally it did still can't believe I finished it but yeah so well worth the it Darla I thank you for giving me the privilege to read this because it was that good go get your copy today and experience a master piece.

Review: Almost To Die For by Tate Hallway

Title: Almost To Die For
Author: Tate Hallway
Publisher:NAL Trade
Date: August 3,2010

Twilight meets The Princess Diaries in the new series from the author of Honeymoon of the Dead

"On her sixteenth birthday, Anastasija

Parker learns that her so-called deadbeat dad is actually a vampire king. And he wants Ana to assume her rightful position at his side, in spite of the fact that she has witch's blood running through her veins-from her mother's side."

"Too bad witches and vampires are mortal enemies. And now Ana's parents are at each other's throats over her future. It's up to Ana to make a choice, but deciding your eternal destiny is a pretty big deal for a girl who just wants to get through high school."

My Take:

The feeling I had while reading was that I felt it was very surprising, never in my right mind would I be able to explain the way I felt its not your average vampire book. Yes it has vampires and also there foes witches but its told in a totally new way. I was getting a huge HoN vibe form this because if the whole element thing. In my opinion it was phenomenal because Ana was part of both worlds she is able to be her own kind of supernatural person. It was humorous and its many moments. I also liked that Ana has two different color eyes. Usually I never read a book by its cover but the moment I saw the eyes and saw it was a vampire novel I was like score and also so intrigued to finding out Ana's story. Hallway in a way gave me so much feeling in this one because it felt real like maybe there are these things out there lurking. I am so looking forward to the next one Almost Final Curtain which is out in May so excited to see Ana grow as a character.

Review: iDrakula by Becca Black

Title: iDrakula
Author: Becca Black
Publisher:
Sourcebooks Fire
Date: October 1, 2010

"18-year-old Jonathan Harker is diagnosed with a rare blood disorder after visiting a Romanian Count. His girlfriend Mina and a pre-med student named Van Helsing team up to investigate the source of the disease. The teenagers discover a horrifying truth: the Count is a vampire. The harrowing events unfold through emails, text messages, web pages, Twitter feeds, and instant messaging-the natural modernization of Bram Stoker's original Dracula, which was written in letters, diary entries, and news clippings."

My Take :
This was very interesting because of the way the book was able to give me insight in a different way instead of a dead set story line with dialog and some sappy story you get iDrakula which surprises me because it felt like I was there this was so beautiful and I loved the way it just helped me figure out what was happening it put me into the story and I had fun trying to see where it would go. This one had me second guessing what was happening and hoping there was no disease by the name of idiopathic autoimmune hemolytic anemia lets hope it never catches on in Cali.

Author Interview and Review: A.M Robinson Debut Author of Vampire Crush

Title:Vampire Crush
Author: A.M. Robinson
Publisher: Harper TeenRelease Date: December 28, 2010

"I swear, my life was always totally normal.

Normal house, normal family, normal school. My looks are average, I don't have any superpowers, no one's showing up to tell me I'm a princess—you get the picture. But when my junior year started, something not normal happened. There were new kids at school . . . new kids with a wardrobe straight out of a 19th-century romance novel, and an inexplicable desire to stay at school until sundown.

And on top of that, James Hallowell showed up. James, who stole my sandwiches in fourth grade and teased me mercilessly through middle school. James, who now seems to have the power to make my heart race any time he comes near.

But something weird is going on. Because James rarely goes out during the day. And he seems stronger than your typical guy. And he knows the new kids, all of whom seem to be harboring some kind of deep secret. . . ."

My Take:

If there can ever be a book where you get tones of pop culture its this one, Robinson caught me a few times with the way she was able to include real things that happen she treated Sophie like she was real and for that I applaud her on doing so. This story was also very livid like I was right there cheering on Sophie to do this and that I loved the whole story and how Robinson was able to put me in place on is she or isn't she. The boy next door is never really gone is he James is so wow there are no words and how she felt about him I knew just by the way she was describing her childhood and if she didn't want him I would have taken him. I loved this even though at the beginning you think you know what is to happen boom curve ball is thrown and your left with a beautiful story through and through.

Pre-order your copy today and celebrate the new year with a girl who is normal as you can get

Q: What started the process of writing for you?

A:It's Something I had always told myself I had to try.(Also, I thought there was a dearth of goofy vampires.)

Q:Did you do any research for the D mark and star symbol or did that just come to you?

A:Not all that much. Although I did look for a name that somewhat symbolized the organization's purpose/founding.

Q: What is one thing you loved about bringing Sophie to life?

A:I really loved channeling Sophie's sense of humor and writing her growing friendship with both Lindsay and the Vamps.

Q: If you had a power like them what it be? Mine would be to the mind wipe like men in black.

A:While I don't think I'd ever like the mind-reading full-stop, it could be helpful every now and then.

I wish the very best to her and wish her the best success ever and I can't wait to see what else she writes about looking forward to it.
