My Book Boyfriend (3): Aiden St. Delphi

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme, hosted by Missie at The Unread ReaderWhat is My Book Boyfriend you might ask.  Well it is a weekly meme where we talk about a literary crush including stats, a picture of what you imagine he looks like and some quotes from him that make you swoon.  If you are interested in participating please check out the My Book Boyfriend Introduction Page over at Missie's blog The Unread Reader.

My choice for this week's MBB is Aiden St. Delphi who has been on my mind since that interview he had last week when Half-blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout came out. Aiden is the kind of guuy to not step over the rules and follows them so why would i pick someone is a goody goody. To me he seems to be there for Alex and that is what any girl really needs someone they can rely on plus when smiles his dimples show so come on swoon worthy.

Stats:Age: 20
He is a Pure Blood

Eye Color: Grey-Silver

strong jaw, perfectly chiseled face

Tall and sleekly muscular

Dark hair, long enough that waves fall in his face

"In front of me, he walked right through the flames, looking every bit like a daimon hunter should. The fire did not singe his pants nor dirty his shirt. Not a single dark hair on his head was touched by the blaze. Those cool, storm-cloud-colored eyes fixed on me." - Alex

"No. You're always... so alive, even when you're going through something that would darken the souls of most." -Aiden

"You have too much life for that, too much life to lose for me." -Aiden

The actor I've chosen to be this mysterious guy who took my breath away was Ben Elliot who is the show The Lying Game on ABCfamily @ 8 pm. Ever since I saw his dimples well one thing lead to another and bam!! Aiden appeared on my screen like in real life. The moment Aiden walked in I knew he would be the one to not only capture the characters heart but also my own as of now Aiden will be the Pure that I need to get my hands on. Until than Ben will keep me company because he is shirtless alot on the show and those dimples are to die for. You can catch new episodes of The Lying Game this January until than reruns are a must. Here is a little sneak peak into those dimples I love so much.

Review: The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

The Scorpio Races
Author: Maggie Stiefvater
Pages:401
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Release Date: October 18th 2011
Author Website
Available: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

It happens at the start of every November: the Scorpio Races. Riders attempt to keep hold of their water horses long enough to make it to the finish line. Some riders live. Others die.
At age nineteen, Sean Kendrick is the returning champion. He is a young man of few words, and if he has any fears, he keeps them buried deep, where no one else can see them.
Puck Connolly is different. She never meant to ride in the Scorpio Races. But fate hasn’t given her much of a chance. So she enters the competition — the first girl ever to do so. She is in no way prepared for what is going to happen.

My Take:

From the moment you pick this up you get this feeling like the journey has finally begun. Sean Kendrick has won 4 races prior to this race and Puck Connolly has never even raced. It wasn't about racing for these two it was about the journey that it took to get to the race. I loved being able to have booth view points because Sean is so different than Puck. Understanding these two was the best journey that I've ever taken.

Riding on a capall uisce is a journey itself, with talent to win its no doubt that last years champion shouldn't win. Never in any year has their been a girl to participate in a race that usually is the death of some of the racers. Puck knows what she faces and understands why she is racing if only men can be smarter and understand that not all would join freely.

While on this journey I've gained some insight on true bravery and also the meaning of any kind of racing. If the heart is in it than the rest will follow. This is the first horse story I've ever read and this legend is the stuff usually whispered around camp fires and it gave me that in order for a journey to take place you have to put in the effort to get their. Many thanks the author for this brilliant masterpiece and also for giving us the best bedtime story about the water horses.

Review: Half-Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Half-blood (Covenant #1)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages:281
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: October 18th 2011
Author Website
Available: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

My Take:

Could you kill the ones you love? This was a question that was on my mind throughout reading this and the answer blew me away. Alex just went through the one thing no one is supposed to go through she lost someone she loves. Surviving was the only thing running through her mind, before the end happens. Alex wasn't told the reason her mom took her and left the safety of the covenant, and even though its been three years since she has seen the one place she called home, she knew to get back their for her survival. She never forgot the rules and of those was to never fall for a pure but when she has to practice training with the hottest pure at the covenant, Adien she has 2 choices follow her heart and be happy or follow the rules. This was so enchanting because Alex proved herself plus she is one of my favorite MC's ever. I not going to lie Adien is HOT with a capital H, and I can see why Alex fell for him all that time ago who can turn away from someone that is so willing to help you out. Yup he is a keeper. What lies ahead is the ultimate question for Alex as she goes through her days at school knowing that life gives you certain things whether its fate for fortune its up to Alex grab it or let it go. BTW Caleb is the best friend every girl deserves an of course the one guy who can give Alex the complete truth.

Review: Daimon by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Daimon (Covenant)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Pages:62
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Release Date: May 10th 2011
Author Website
Available: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill.

The daimons have found her.

My Take:

Let me just say is wow this little story was amazing. Alex is a badass and she can hold her own, being away from a place that you knew as home is hard on a girl who is well different than the rest. A little understanding is what you get and of course you get to be inside Alex's head from when she is in the outside world. I love this idea that their are god descendents it sounds so awesome, and it definitely opened my eyes to what could be going on if say I was ever in hiding. You have to read this though so that you see Alex come to the point she is in Half Blood, than and only then shall you understand the ricks and challenges that lie ahead for Alex and what the Covenant has in store for Alex's. There is action though in Daimon, and as you read you'll understand that normal isn't always well normal.BTW Half Blood is awesome you need you read that asap your life depends on it.

Then a chance meeting and tortuously close quarters lead to uncontrollable flares of passion and rediscovery of their unique penchant for public encounters. Now, in addition to the risk of mutual heartbreak every time they get together, they’re in danger of truly scandalous public exposure...
My Take:

When the guy your in love with tells you not to follow your dreams you do what some women do you pursue that dream. Jessica fell for Sed 2 years ago he can be sexy, kind, and he takes care of the people he loves. With time and distance Jessica seemed to be well living her dreams as a lawyer, and Sed well he was living his being the lead singer of Sinners. Until of course their paths crossed each other, because Jessica needed to make some cash she decides to work in Los Vegas and strips. Well Sed finds her and he just goes ballistic and grabbing whats his. One thing leads to another and well Jessica decides to go on tour with the band and Sed is so happy. I liked the fat that Sed opened up, you got to see his side of things and even you didn't understand why Jessica left after reading you understand but also you look at the way Sed saw things and realize he was only being caring in his weird way of showing it. Some ending I so can't wait to see what happens with the band members in the next book, because knowing these guys that bet had to have been huge.

Review: Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Bloodlines
Author: Richelle Mead
Pages:421
Publisher: Razorbill
Release Date: August 23rd 2011
Author Website
Available: Amazon|Barnes and Noble

When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

My Take:

May contain Spoilers-

The last we saw Sydney she was on her way home after what had happened at Moroi court, she helped Rose Hathaway and what did she get for it not a welcome home party thats for sure.  When your woken up in the middle of the night by your father you know something is up. It seems that because she ha helped a fugitive their was debate of whether to allow Sydney back in or send her to be reformed. The next thing Sydney knows is she is sent off to Palm Springs, California and attending a private school all because she told everyone she could handle it. Watching a princess shouldn't be hard especially if she comes with a body guard who is well capable of taking care of the fighting side of things. Along with the journey of course we see others from the Vampire Academy series and meet more characters, Adrian is by the far the one guy I've had my eyes since well forever and with his heart broken lets just say he tells it like it is no filter. With everything that was happening it seemed that Sydney had alot of things going on at once it was crazy to think that her job could ever get easier but she handled herself even when we the reader found out what her deal with Abe didn't see that coming at all Richelle opened our eyes to warriors who fought to protect a vampire race, with this we get a humans perspective and also get to be inside someone who has no link to someone else its just her and her thoughts. This journey is not over its has just begun and the next one should also be a non-stop thrill ride.
