Ava is welcomed home from the hospital by a doting mother, lively friends, and a crush finally beginning to show interest. There's only one problem: Ava can't remember any of them - and can't shake the eerie feeling that she's not who they say she is.
Ava struggles to break through her amnesiac haze as she goes through the motions of high-school life, but the memories that surface take place in a very different world, where Ava and familiar-faced friends are under constant scrutiny and no one can be trusted. Ava doesn't know what to make of these visions, or of the boy who is at the center of them all, until he reappears in her life and offers answers . . . but only in exchange for her trust.

My Take:

Ever wonder that maybe there are different dimensions where are essence are there living a totally different life. Or maybe this universe is linked to others and has the same this as the one we live in but the complete opposite. For Ava waking up was just the beginning to why or how she ended up without any memory to understand. The women who says she is her mother is a total complete stranger, the street, the bed she woke up in even the cloths she is wearing. Nothing comes to Ava the only thing she feels at is that she doesn't belong there. When she starts having memories that happened but never actually happened Ava puts it together that everything is not what it seems. Going to school seems the only thing her doctors say might trigger things, as she talks to those who are Ava's friends she starts to remember a different type of group she grew up with who have the same faces but seem more weaker.

When Morgan shows up, Ava feels safe with him even though her mom says she needs to stay away from him. He is the only link she has to finding out the truth, she knows she can trust him and when she sleeps she sees him as if that life actually happened. But in reality it all happened, her mind is stronger than everyone anticipated and her link to Morgan is the only constant thing. With Morgan wanting her to follow him, Jane saying she loves her even without the memory, she must decide if fate is playing with her or not. Ava needs to figure who to keep close and who to keep distant, and when it comes to actual school or no life you would think it would be a no brainer. But what if you got the life you always wanted a second chance if you will, but in order to get it the one you love is the thing you lose, what would you do if you were Ava?

I liked the whole aspect of another world where everything is similar to the one you live on, same friends just different atmosphere. Ava lived a different life than her counter part did, the only thing was she was taken to this different place because she was 'needed' to. When her counter part died in the place she woke in she was pulled and put into the role to play her. Ava doesn't know who to believe the fact that her dreams paint a different picture is hard for her. The only thing she knows is that her dreams are actually becoming clearer and helping her understand what she lost. Even though Jane seems nice Ava doesn't feel apart of the 'Ava' life. It would totally weird if I find out my mom did that but love is the biggest factor when it comes to the logic of why and Ava must choose the path she most sees for herself. So if your want something out of the ordinary than As I Wake is right for you.
