A simple mission turned deadly.
Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.
When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.
My Take:
Ever want something more than to be put behind closed doors, protected comes at a price right? For Dawn being the daughter of the vampire president means that she must be protected, and has been trained just in case. Teaching the children to defend themselves has always been okay job, helping out is something Dawn knows to do. Its until her father allows her to recruit four vampires and train them to protect the town known as Angel Creek. Of course being allowed this comes with her father providing the house with weapons that is needed for the duration of her stay.
Entering a new small town isn't easy at all, because being the talk of the town and add in the fact that she is a vampire makes her presence the topic of the town. Vampires of course came out to the world years before, so being one gains a simple popularity, but for Dawn being a made one is added popularity and of course word spreads like wild fire. Training a vampire team to be the best isn't all that easy, especially when you have Brooke who loves the spot light a little too much, Sophie who always has her head stuck in a book, Hunter who is the drunk in the group, and of course Seth who is new to being a vampire. Her team may seem like a far cry from the towns protectors, but with Dawn's help they learn to become that team. Of course with the added help of super cute Ethan who seems to always pop up. Training seemed to be fine, until a human is kidnapped and since they are a team they rush into to save the day, its until they find out why said human was captured. Turns out being sent to a new small town really stinks just ask Dawn. So when your father sends you to a small town just stay away unless of course the town has someone named Sebastian who looks also familiar too Dawn.
While reading this, I couldn't help but like Sebastian he has this inner soul going for him. Also liked the fact that Dawn grew as a character, with her patience with her team and than rushing to save someone who she saw as a friend, well that was crazy. Even though Ethan popping up every so often was fine I actually liked that he was there. He seemed like the type to want to help in any way, the big question was of course Sebastian and why he didn't want to join in the group training. Also his connection with Dawn omg was that some connection. I loved every minute reading this even though its taken a long time to type what I felt while reading this. The book itself was beautifully crafted and terminated so well, I mean it had me crying so when that happens it usually keeps me speechless for awhile. So you want something swoon worthy this is your ticket
5/5 stars
Great review. I loved this book too. Sebastian was awesome, but I also like Ethan.
